Members of Alpha excel at being masters of nothing. You need to be good at everything. From field craft, to technical controls bypassing, each member of an Alpha team need to be comfortable in building a wide range of knowledge and thinking outside the box.

Situations call urban reconnoissance in heavily populated sprawls, but those can turn into an all out crisis calling on the member's leadership skills to save lives. Others call for maritime operations in the dead of the night that may turn into a hostage rescue.

Smart, resilient, and dynamic are often the attributes used when describing the operators.

New people being considered as potential candidates don't know it, but one of the things that the assessors look is adaptability in the field. Often failing is a factor of this.

The candidates that are accepted to be sent thru the pipeline are in for a grueling test of their chameleon-like approach to solving problems and adapting, or lack there of.
